The Pete Plan blog

The next couple of weeks are down as a fast track training period to a fast 5k for the December challenge series. As such yesterday’s session was down as a 10 x 600m reps session with 1min rest, with a nominal target of all reps sub 1:42 pace. I needed a hard session though to give myself a real push and reset my brain a little as to what is possible. Sub 1:40 was a nice round number target that seemed just within reach.

21st December:

10 x 600m / 1min rest:
1:39.9 / 31
1:39.9 / 31
1:39.9 / 31
1:39.8 / 31
1:39.9 / 31
1:39.8 / 32
1:39.8 / 32
1:39.7 / 32
1:39.8 / 32
1:35.9 / 34

6000m = 19:53.6 / 1:39.4 / 31

With very little time left before the end of the month this session jumps next to a 6 x 1k / 1min rest prior to the 5k a couple of days afterwards. Quite where I will fit these in over the Christmas period I am not yet sure, as I am travelling a fair amount visiting relatives.

And today just a steady 10k session.

22nd December:

10k = 36:37.4 / 1:49.8 / 24
