4 x 1450m – End of Week 2

Posted by thepeteplan on December 10, 2010

The final core session of week 2 of the BIRC to Boston training plan was a 4 x 1450m session. I thought about really pushing the set today, but concluded that it was better to stick with a slight improvement on last week’s 4 x 1350m reps across all 4 reps.

4 x 1450m / 5min rest:
4:54.3 / 1:41.4 / 29
4:53.8 / 1:41.3 / 29
4:53.7 / 1:41.2 / 29
4:44.8 / 1:38.2 / 31

5800m = 19:26.5 / 1:40.5 / 29

A good enough improvement from a week ago. 400m further for the set, 0.3 faster average pace, and every rep faster including 0.2 faster on the final rep. Being able to do the final rep 3sec under the pace of the first 3 obviously means I am rowing a little within myself on the first three, but I am content with that at the moment as it fits in well with the aim of these sessions. Onwards to week 3….
